Scales are simply patterns that help pianists to limber up our fingers, and aid in composing, improvising, and understanding music. Austin started learning scales on his third lesson, eight weeks ago. Today, he completed my "scale challenge" - which is like a final exam on scales!  There are 12 scales in the set that Austin has learned. To complete the challenge, he had to memorize them all, then be able to play five randomly picked scales by memory and NOTE PERFECT! Austin completed the scale challenge today and was rewarded with $20 composer bucks. Combined with his other composer bucks - Austin earned a $5 itunes gift card. Way to go, Austin! Categories
